Since the release of their debut full-length album Barefoot (2017), the indie surf-poppers have toured the USA, embarked on multiple sold-out headline tours locally and across the ditch, and toured with the likes of Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and The Rubens. With over 16 million streams alone on their single ‘Sunbleached Girl’ they’ve collected a passionately loyal fan-base.
Working with long-time friend and producer Ian Haug (Powderfinger, The Church) and signed to his label Airlock Records, the band have released a string of new singles including ‘Flicker’, ‘Golden Lungs’, ‘Creaky Minds’, ‘Blur’ and ‘Wild Thing’. Recent single ‘April Nights’ landed in Spotify’s New Music Friday and Rock Out Playlists as well as Apple Music’s New Music Daily.
The band have an ability to write music that spans generations. Recently selling out staple Brisbane venus such as The Tivoli and filling The Triffid four times over, they have lodged a special place in the hearts of Australian music-lovers.
This new era of shaggy groove is set to open a new chapter for the band and whilst remaining true to their well-known optimism and cruisey vibes.
MELALEUCA
Brisbane four-piece Melaleuca have wasted no time in developing and locking in their unique brand of grunge, alt-rock and pop with a self-referential twist within their local Brisbane scene.
Amongst the chaos that COVID has brought for touring plans in 2021, the band have still managed to support Bugs & Teenage Joans on a sold out Australian tour playing in venues The Tivoli, Oxford Arts Factory and Lion Arts Factory, support WAAX at a sold out Tivoli, main support for Hope D on her QLD tour, and share lineups with Tired Lion, Shag Rock, Beddy Rays, VOIID & Semantics to name a few.
Melaleuca also sold out 2 debut headline shows for the release of Impossible Girl / Lie To Me, have received debut spins on Triple J, headlined Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, played on festivals such as Super Fun Day, Winter Sessions, Valley Fiesta, Let The Music Play, Fireball Festival and Hidden Lanes Festival. All within a year.
Now looking forward to 2022, the band are one of the hype acts to watch on this years’ BIGSOUND festival with an EP on it’s way, due late 2022.
