At HSW we’re proud to be involved in showcasing the work of talented artists with our Outdoor Gallery located near Citrus House.
From 21 November 2025 to 25 October 2026, we invite you to explore Council’s latest Outdoor Gallery exhibition, AMPLIFY ME! A celebration of local Brisbane artists with a lived experience of disability, showcasing their artwork in accessible outdoor spaces across the city. Grounded in inclusive arts practice, the exhibition promotes collaboration, barrier-free creativity and lasting connections, while encouraging inclusion and social change in Brisbane’s cultural landscape.
AMPLIFY ME! is curated by Nicole Crosswell.
“The artists’ unique practices and creative voices deeply informed the curatorial framework of this exhibition, shaping every aspect with authenticity and vision. This approach moves beyond tradition, celebrating Brisbane’s rich artistic diversity and thoughtfully highlighting the importance of lived experience at the heart of the city’s cultural story.” – Nicole Crosswell (Curator)
Amplify Me! showcases Ella Doyle’s animation, Teresa the Tasmanian Tiger (2024-25), across both Howard Smith Wharves and Museum of Brisbane, joining two dynamic Brisbane locations that each blend heritage and contemporary culture. By presenting the work in these spaces, Doyle challenges traditional representations of the Thylacine and keeps its story alive in our cultural memory, exploring the intersection of scientific fact and folklore.
About the Outdoor Gallery
Brisbane City Council’s Outdoor Gallery transforms Brisbane’s laneways, city streets and car parks into imaginative, curious, and engaging spaces.
Comprising of light boxes, banners, vitrines, and evening projections, the Outdoor Gallery displays art outside in city streets, instead of inside on gallery walls. Share your experience of the Outdoor Gallery exhibitions and public programs on social media using #BNEPublicArt.
