All food and beverage for events are catered by Howard Smith Wharves, external catering (food and beverage) is not permitted.  You are welcome to bring a cake for a celebration, a $3.50 per person cakeage fee applies if you would like us to cake and serve the cake to your guests.

We can cater to all special dietary requirements and our team are passionate about providing guests with special dietary requirements with an equitable and memorable experience.  Dietary requirements are required seven (7) days prior to your event, rare and very special requirements may require additional lead time and minimum quantity orders.

We’re able to provide a connection to the in-house speaker system for background music.

Additional AV including such things as microphones are provided by Scene Change, Howard Smith Wharves’ exclusive AV hire and production company.  They offer video, audio, lighting, staging, IT and technical services for your event.

Once your AV needs are known, Scene Change can provide an estimate of fees.

Live entertainment for your event creates a wonderful atmosphere and can really elevate your guest experience.  We suggest no more than a solo/duo or DJ in Green House.  Please note no drums or bass are allowed in this venue.

Howard Smith Wharves is subject to noise regulations as set by Brisbane City Council.  All outdoor amplified music must cease at 10pm, venue doors will be closed at this time and outdoor speakers will be turned off. Entertainment in line with the indoor noise restrictions may continue after this time.  Details on specific noise restrictions for Green House can be found in the fact sheet.

Many of our clients opt for a beverage package which is priced per person dependant on the duration of your event.  You may opt for a consumption/bar tab – labour charges may apply.

We are able to provide a cash bar facility for which guests can pay individually for beverages during all, or part of an event. Cash bars will be operated from Howard Smith Wharves fixed bars and minimum spends and labour charges will apply.

Spirit enhancements to a beverage package or consumption/bar tab are available for the final two hours of your event only.  A spirit only cash bar can be provided at no additional charge when used in conjunction with beverage package for the duration of your event.

You may enhance your event with cocktails on arrival or post dinner cocktails, these must be pre- ordered during the planning phase.

Aside from the food and beverage, indoor furniture in line with your event type is included i.e. cocktail tables and stools, banquet tables and chairs.  Our standard terrace furniture including lounge and café tables is included.  We also supply linen, crockery, cutlery and glassware.

We provide set up service for venue furniture and equipment as well as staff to service the event.

Venue access is provided one hour prior to the event start time and 30 minutes after the conclusion.  Event duration is dictated by the catering package and early/late access is subject to additional charges.  We are licenced until midnight.

We do not provide any additional styling or theming; you are welcome to bring in a supplier for any additional items including centrepieces that you require for your event.

Our indoor spaces are temperature controlled however we can arrange fans or heaters for outdoor areas at an additional cost.

Our event spaces are private however are located within a busy precinct so whilst public aren’t able to enter your event space, they will be using the public areas and pathways around the venue.  We place private event signage outside whilst events are in progress.

Security is not required for events (unless determined by risk assessment) however should you wish to have security for your event, we can arrange this at an additional cost.

There are bathrooms located outside of Green House.  All bathrooms within the HSW precinct are provided for events, patrons and general public.
