Howard Smith Wharves is located at 5 Boundary Street Brisbane, under the iconic Story Bridge. The precinct lines 500m of the waters edge under the beautiful cliffs of Bowen Terrace.
Take the lifts down from the top of the cliffs directly into the precinct with lift access located opposite Malt Street and Bowen Street on Bowen Terrace to allow easy access. There’s plenty more options to get to HSW – pick what’s best for you and enjoy your visit!
The west footpath joins Howard Smith Wharves from the City Reach Boardwalk near Queen Street, Brisbane City. The east footpath begins at the New Farm Riverwalk from Riverview Court, New Farm. Two lifts are located at the top of the cliffs on Bowen Terrace for direct access into the precinct.
A designated pick-up and drop-off zone is located at 5 Boundary Street, Brisbane City for quick and easy access.
The precinct has a shared cycle and pedestrian path running through it, providing access from the New Farm Riverwalk to Brisbane City. Howard Smith Wharves has 50 public bicycle spaces and 33 employee bicycle spaces, to encourage a greener transport option.

The CityHopper and Cross River Ferry run every 30 minutes from the HSW Ferry Terminal. Travel across the river between 6am and midnight direct from the precinct to your favourite spots in Brisbane! Visit the TransLink website to plan your journey.
From Monday 27th May CityCats will travel to and from the Howard Smith Wharves Ferry Terminal – making it easier than ever to get to HSW. CityCats travel between St Lucia and Northshore Hamilton. The Landing at Howard Smith Wharves is a new pontoon enabling arrivals to HSW via the Brisbane River. Arrival and departure bookings are required and are for a duration of 15 minutes unless otherwise requested and agreed by HSW. Find out more HERE.
Central Station in Brisbane City, and Fortitude Valley Station are the most convenient train stations to access the Howard Smith Wharves precinct. Please be prepared, all train stops require a walk to HSW. Visit the TransLink website to plan your journey.
Booking a ride share service from the airport? Easy! Order your ride share using your preferred app to 5 Boundary Street, Brisbane City and follow the signs to the designated Ride Booking area at the airport.
Taxi pick-ups are available 24/7 from ranks outside the domestic and international airports.
Alternatively you can take the Airtrain into Brisbane City. Just 20 minutes by train will get you to Central Station – 1km from Howard Smith Wharves. Train services run every 15 minutes. Click to visit the Brisbane Airport website.

Howard Smith Wharves is accessible via lifts on Bowen Terrace, drop-off zones at 5 Boundary Street, and the Riverwalk from Brisbane City and New Farm entrances. The new Howard Smith Wharves Ferry Terminal also provides river access connecting to terminals along the Brisbane River.
The HSW Car Park is located on-site with disability parking bays and lifts connecting the car park to the ground level of the precinct.
There are multiple accessible bathrooms located across the precinct, housed within Event Spaces and dining outlets.
Service dogs are welcome at HSW with grassed areas located towards the New Farm end of the precinct.
