Felons Brewing Co.

Set under the Story Bridge on the banks of the Brisbane River, Howard Smith Wharves’ Felons Brewing Co. opened their doors on 23 November, serving brewery-fresh beer and delicious food.

Felons Beer Garden

The working wholesale and retail brewery is set to radically reignite the city’s former port. Run by a team of passionate beer experts – many of them Little Creatures alumni – Felons is more than just a place for Brisbane locals to meet and share freshly brewed beer: it is also a contemporary architectural landmark. Its name is displayed in gigantic hand painted black lettering across the roof of the brewery. Visible from the air, the sign measures 47 metres long and 5 metres wide.

With Felons Brewing Co. beers brewed onsite at Howard Smith Wharves, Felons offers something for everyone catering for the beer novice through to the beer expert, with a range of beers and ciders on hand for all to enjoy, along with delicious food, such as wood-fired pizzas, grilled Moreton Bay bugs and grilled whole snapper.

Felons Brewing Co. have also recently opened their Beer Garden, located to the back of the brewery the space hosts up to 250 people. Surrounded by citrus and olive trees this is the perfect inner-city oasis to enjoy a crisp fresh beer and a wood-fired pizza.

Felons Fish n’ Chippery

Located next to the Felons Lawn at the back on the brewery, you’ll find the Traditional Fish n’ Chip Shop serving the finest seafood chefs can get their hands on. Bring a picnic rug, collect some take-away beer from the brewery, grab some fish n’ chips and kick back in our family-friendly yard. Furry friends welcome.

Mr Percival’s

Visit often and stay late following the highly anticipated opening of Mr Percival’s, the impressive overwater bar-plus-dining spot located at Howard Smith Wharves, set on the picturesque Brisbane River under the iconic Story Bridge. Mr Percival’s threw open their doors on 29 November, with the octagon-shaped Mr Percival’s becoming a must-visit for locals, interstate tourists and global tastemakers.

Mr Percival’s design is informed by the elegant eye of Anna Spiro Design, from the architectural framework and speakeasy-style octagon shaped bar, to the charming pelican logo. Taking cues from Europe’s most iconic, unpretentious beach clubs, the atmosphere at Mr Percival’s has been devised to spur a sense of year-long summer.

Mr Percival’s menu rises to meet its decor: its Aperitivo-style bar snacks abound in understated cool. It’s not difficult to imagine afternoons turning to evenings while curled against plush, upholstered 70s print chairs—all dreamed to life by Spiro—while sipping on something sweet and sampling fresh bites from the carefully designed, seafood-focused menu.

Mr Percival’s is set to be part of Brisbane redefining itself as a global food and wine centre. With delicious food and drinks paired with eye-catching design, there truly is nothing better to do but sip, relax and watch the sunset at Mr Percival’s.

GRECA

Greca Brisbane

Bringing his contemporary interpretation of the Greek taverna to the north, restauranteur Jonathan Barthelmess opened Greca on 8 December. Following the success of The Apollo (Sydney, Tokyo) and Cho Cho San (Sydney), Greca is inspired by the Mediterranean way of life, and the pleasures of eating together, the menu celebrates the simplicity of traditional Greek flavours in dishes designed to share.

With interiors designed by Jonathan’s childhood friend George Livissianis, the warehouse space has been painted white like a traditional Greek taverna, but there’s also greenery in the form of olive trees, custom-made straw furniture and timber.

With an open kitchen, Greca’s menu revolves around charcoal and woodfired grills, and features grilled seafood and meats, as well as many traditional Greek dishes such as taramasalata, spanakopita and dolmades.
